Homelab Network & Infrastructure

A personal project focused on networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, and IT infrastructure.

Network Architecture

About the Project

I built and maintain a segmented homelab to develop hands-on experience with networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, storage, and systems administration.

The environment uses a Palo Alto PA-220 firewall, Cisco network switching, VLAN-based segmentation, a Proxmox virtualization cluster, and a TrueNAS storage server. TrueNAS provides iSCSI storage to the Proxmox cluster through a dedicated network interface, while Palo Alto GlobalProtect provides remote network administration.

Project Goals

• Practice enterprise-style network segmentation and firewall administration.

• Build and manage virtualization infrastructure.

• Provide shared network storage to the virtualization environment.

• Develop practical troubleshooting and systems administration skills.

• Maintain secure remote access to the homelab.
